Hello from Sweden and a short film from Madagascar

Hello all, we are now back on the island of Landsort in Sweden, having arrived on the 3rd April.

Hard to believe it is 18 months since we left back on 1st December 2014. It feels very natural to be back here, like coming back to our second home. We spent the 4th putting up the remaining 20 nets ready for ringing to start on the 5th. So far we have had 88, 24 and 26 birds, but more of that later.

For the time being it has been good to meet many of the island's residents (there are only 18 who live here permanently), having many coffees and chats and catching up on what has been happening since we left. The Observatory building is in the process of being refurbished, new exterior walls being fitted, windows out to be repaired and even plans for a toilet to be installed!!!!!

Before giving a resume of our first week we thought you may enjoy a look at a short film that we helped out friend, Chris Scarffe film in Madagascar last October/ November. It is the first of three films that Chris (Scarffe) was commissioned to make on behalf of the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust. This one is aimed at raising funds from potential sponsors with editing of the other two, longer, films taking place in the first part of this year, We also filmed for another charity, Planet Madagascar.

We hope you enjoy watching it.
