Some pictures from the last few days. With the weather still trying to get warmer the snakes are out and about, coming out of hibernation and finding food. The Adder in the top picture was basking against the wall of the shed next to the Obs. Several seen today, including a Grass Snake that has just made its way into our cellar!
We think this snake might have been a Grass Snake, rather than an Adder. It had a firm hold of the leg of the Toad when we saw it at 1100hrs yesterday and they were still there several hours later. By this morning the Toad was there but the snake had gone. As the Toad was still alive, but very groggy, we now think it could not have been an Adder.
