All nets opened at 0400 with calm conditions. Closed at 1100 with 25 new birds of 15 species. Without doubt the best birds were 2 young Green Woodpecker, both caught on the same net round in the canopy nets. A ringing tick for Kay and only the second one ringed by Chris.

These are the 9th and 10th ever caught on Landsort and the only time two have been caught in one year. The last one caught was in 2010. Also of note was the first Wood Warbler of the year and the 23rd Wryneck, clearly a very good year for this species.
Janne left the island briefly on the morning ferry and missed seeing the Green Woodpecker, but was back with Bosse in the afternoon. Roger left the Obs today, so it is 7 again at the Obs overnight: Chris, Kay, Steve, Nettie, Janne, Kalle and Marie.
More information on how the migration watching went later.
