Birds ringed
Despite reduced netting effort a total of 100 new birds of 16 species was obtained. Best bird was a Long-eared Owl caught and ringed by Kay after it had flown into the 1st south net during the net-opening round. At last, just reward for nearly 200 mornings of opening nets before full daylight! A well deserved ringing tick for all the effort!!! (see picture of Owl and other recent captures on earlier post)
Bosse arrived on the first ferry and was able to see the bird before release.
More data analysis done this afternoon in preparation for writing the annual ringing report.
Will be three at the Obs overnight: Chris, Kay and Bosse.
