Landsort diary 27th October 2016

The end of overnight rain delayed net opening until 0800 while the strong W to SW wind resulted in just 7 nets being opened with a couple more opened as the wind changed direction to more Westerly. All nets closed at 1400.

 

Only 49 new birds of 13 species, very quiet after the last few weeks of larger numbers. Still, we caught the first Waxwing of the winter (7) and with plenty more on the island tomorrow should see that total added to!

 

Will be just Chris and Kay at the Obs overnight.
