Birds ringed
An excellent mornings ringing with a very busy period at 0700 when Bosse helped out with net rounds. A total of 131 new birds of 17 species, made up mainly of Willow Warbler (72) and Lesser Whitethroat (23). First autumn Goldcrest caught and a female Sparrowhawk was the first of the year.
Another excellent guided talk for 9 people, including three people from on the island. Feedback very positive about the work of the Observatory and future plans, with many island residents wishing to become members to support our future work.
Lena arrived on the morning ferry so it will be four at the Obs tonight (with maybe 5 if Janne turns up!!!!)
