Landsort diary 24th August 2016

All nets opened at 0430 with a clear sky and light winds. Non-standard nets closed at 1030 and Standard at 1215. A total of 48 new birds of 10 species including a decent catch of 14 Blackcap.

Best bird of the day was an adult Garden Warbler with a ring marked with the Belgian ringing scheme. Wonder when and where this was first ringed?

Guided talk attracted 10 people, a good number for our next to last talk of the season, including a fellow ringer from Eggegrund.

This afternoon will be spent doing some net repairs and changing a few old nets for ones in better condition.

Just Chris and Kay at the Obs tonight.
