Landsort diary 11th August 2016

Overnight rain showers with strong NW winds delayed opening of nets until 0615, when 16 nets were opened but reduced to 11 an hour later as the wind increased for a while. Eventually 15 nets were operated until all closed at 1115. A total of 22 new birds of 11 species.

Osprey migrating south over the Obs building.

Over the last couple of days we have been carrying old timbers from boardwalks back to the Obs as part of a clean up of the netting area. Some timbers still to be moved but most now ready to go to the fire cove in the south.

Just Chris & Kay at the Obs overnight tonight.
