Landsort diary 19th June 2016

After a very wet day yesterday, during which no ringing took place (after 74 consecutive days) it was back to normal this morning with 14 nets opened at 0400 and closed at 1045. A total of 8 new birds of just 4 species.

Yesterday, though no ringing took place, Susann and Gunilla applied oil to some new net poles while Kay put a coat of paint on the bathroom window. Pelle and Chris caught up on some much needed paperwork!!!

Today Chris and Pelle did much the same while Kay ran the nets with Thomas, who made a very welcome return to Landsort after a few years absence.

Susann and Gunilla left yesterday leaving 4 at the Obs last night. Pelle and Thomas left in the early afternoon today, after which Chris & Kay put a second coat of paint on the window and put the third coat of paint on the walls and ceiling of the bathroom. All set for the plumber and electrician to start work from tomorrow.

Having no hot water for over three weeks and no shower on site is starting to take its toll, so it will be good to get the bathroom finished this week.

Just Chris and Kay overnight tonight as Liam has delayed his planned arrival until tomorrow.
