Landsort Diary 8th June 2016

All nets opened at 0400 but closed at 0800 as the strengthening wind came ahead of moderate rain at 0900. Looks like it will rain now for a while, so no more netting today.

A total of 12 new birds of 11 species, including the first Greenish Warbler of the year. Also caught our first fledged linnet of the year. Along with Greenfinch, Great Tit and White Wagtail chicks in the area, it is a sign that the breeding season is advancing quickly.

62 species caught this year so far.

Liam arrives this evening to give three at the Obs overnight.
