Birds ringed
We continue to catch birds that were ringed as nestlings in the nest boxes this summer, with over 20% of those ringed now re-trapped in nets.
Migration watching was split between the north and south - good to have coverage at both sites. Raul went for a swim in an attempt to track down the ID of a bird calling from the island at North Harbour - now that is commitment!!! It has yet to be decided which team won - the A team or the B team. In fact they haven't yet agreed which is the A and which is the B team. Will probably be decided over a beer tonight!!!
Down to set up some nets in SUDD this afternoon. Seven nets put up and main vegetation removed with the weeds being trimmed tonight ready for some netting there in the morning. It's now 1830 and this old man is officially tired!!
There will be 10 at the Obs overnight: Chris, Kay, Liam, Mårten, Raul, Janne, Anna, Niklas, Bjorn and Mikael.
