Landsort diary 20th July 2016

All nets opened at 0400 and closed at 1200. A total of 24 new birds of 11 species including the first fledged Garden Warbler of the year.

Drop-in guided talk attracted 5 adults and one under 16. These talks are much better attended than the indoor lectures - almost certainly due to the weather!!!

Johan left today. He, together with Niklas and Per were out fairly late last night for migration watching, but not much happening. After entering all their records this morning it was a quiet time for N & P before they headed off to south for a long session - aiming to stay until dusk and then back down there for 0400 tomorrow morning!!

Four at the Obs tonight: Chris, Kay, Niklas and Per but not sure if the last two qualify for 'bed-night' numbers as they will hardly be in theirs tonight. Great to see the enthusiasm for migration watching from all three over the last couple of days!
