Landsort diary 12th July 2016

Strong winds delayed opening of nets and restricted how many could be opened.

As wind increased some of the further away nets were closed, with the rest closed at 1100. A total of 25 new birds of 8 species, including the first fledged Goldfinch caught of the year, though they have been seen around the island for a while.

An influx of Greenfinch with 14 new birds caught.

No rain forecast today, so we are a bit mystified about what it was falling out of the sky on and off throughout the morning!!!!

Niklas and Bjorn arrive this evening, giving 4 at the Obs tonight.
