Landsort diary 7th July 2016

All nets opened at 0400, having resisted the temptation to stay up late and watch the Wales-Portugal match!!!

Nets closed at 1030 as the wind increased to a strong NW. A total of 17 new birds of 9 species, including our first fledged Red-backed Shrike, after the first was seen on 1st July. Re-caught the female Serin, still with a well developed brood patch.

No guided talks or lectures planned today, so an easier afternoon just finishing off strimming the nets rides along the road and in the south round.

The 'issue' with the drains is not yet resolved but Thomas has been up and perhaps some progress made?

Just Kay and Chris at the Obs tonight.
