Landsort diary 11th July 2016

Rain early on, together with a large bank of rain clouds just south of the island delayed opening until 0530. Most nets closed at 0900 as more rain arrived with the remaining nets closed at 1100.

Despite the short netting period we still managed 22 new birds of 10 species, taking the total for July to over 200.

First Fieldfare for a while caught, but best bird was a Blyth's Reed Warbler, caught in one of the pond nets.

No attendance for the drop-in lecture.

Just Chris & Kay at the Obs tonight
