Landsort diary 4th July 2016

Most nets opened at 0400 with the rest opened during the morning as the wind dropped a bit. Non-standard nets closed at 0930 and the Standard nets closed at 1100. A total of 12 new birds of 6 species, with another young Wryneck caught.

The fist of 18 planned public lectures was given today and although attendance was poor, with just two turning up it was expected that the Monday talks will be less popular than those on a Friday and Sunday. Both seemed to enjoy it and hopefully more will turn up as the season progresses.

An ex-member arrived today wishing to stay, so it will be three at the Obs tonight: Chris, Kay and Anne Thorsell

Anne's arrival is a timely reminder that those wishing to use the Observatory need to be paid up members, so anyone wishing to stay in future should ensure their subscription of 200SEK per annum is up to date
