Landsort diary 5th July 2016

Strong winds at 0400, so no nets opened, but some paperwork done while we waited for the wind to decrease. By 0630 most nets were opened and by 0730 28 nets were opened  and then closed at 1100.

Just 7 new birds of 4 species but the first fledged Willow Warbler of the year caught.

After lunch strimming of paths and net rides. Most of the main Bredmar site done, with those in the south round and along the road to be completed tomorrow.

Roger and Magnus arrived this morning and fitted the shower, which is looking good and going to be given its first use soon as I wash the grass and debris out of what is left of my hair!!!!

Just when we thought everything was going smoothly, the sewer pipe on the cellar started leaking onto the floor - lovely smell in there!!! Will be repaired tomorrow.

Anne is leaving the Obs this evening, so just Chris & Kay overnight tonight.

It is our National Day on the Isle of Man today, celebrating over 1000 years of independence. Might just celebrate with a G&T. Cheers to all on the Isle of Man!!!
