Landsort diary 18th May 2016

All nets open at 0330 and closed at 1145. Wind light from the south to start with but increased around 0800 when some sea mist came in, but did not result in any increase in the number of birds on the island. It remains very quiet for birds.

 

Total of 23 new birds of 10 species, including the first Meadow Pipit of the year.

 

Nets closed earlier than normal to give time to get all the rubbish from the Observatory up to Norhamn ready for loading onto the boat on Sunday. Loading starts at 1030 and as Kay & Chris will still be running the nets at BMAR at that time some volunteers from the membership would be more than welcome to help with the loading.
