All nets open at 0400 and closed at 1130. Total of 35 new birds of 15 species, including two Reed Warblers, the first of the year.
Early in the morning we were rewarded with good views of a Beaver on the pond, watched for several minutes and then again 30 minutes later. Once the road became a bit busier it was no longer seen, but is probably still in the area. A lovely way to celebrate Kays birthday.
The guiding at 1100 was attended by a family of five.
Afternoon was spent checking some more Starling nest boxes, but no more young ringed. One of the boxes has been taken over by a pair of Tree Sparrow, with 2+ young and 2+ eggs present.
Gunila arrived on the morning boat and spent some time in the afternoon seeking out some of the plants recorded as having been present on the island during a survey of 1977, part of an on-going survey she is engaged in.
Mats arrived in the afternoon, giving four at the Obs tonight.
