Landsort diary 30th May 2016

19 nets opened at 0400 with a further 3 opened at 0500 as the wind dropped slightly. All 22 nets closed at 1230. A grand total of 10 new birds of 9 species.

 

Our target now is to catch 11 tomorrow to try and get to 1,000 birds for the month - will we do it???

 

Just about finished off preparing a sheet that shows the main capture periods through the year for migrant species, based on ringing data from 1978 to 2015.

 

This afternoon am helping Roger with the demolition of the rest of the shower room. The Obs is now without water and will be for some time. Please consider this when booking to stay for the next 2-3 weeks.
