Landsort diary 19th May 2016

All nets open at 0330 and closed at 1130 to allow time in the afternoon to check nest boxes. Netting produced 26 new birds of 9 species including a further Thrush Nightingale.

Afternoon was spent visiting all known Starling nest boxes when 41 young from 10 boxes. Three further boxes had young that were too small to ring and a further box had 5 warm eggs. An enjoyable afternoon out in the woods among a some wonderful scenery and a range of wild flowers. Landsort is looking splendid at the moment.

Just Kay and Chris at the Obs tonight.
