Landsort diary 31st May 2016

Well the month ended a bit quietly for birds in nets - just 6 new today for 8 hours effort from 0400-1200. Ended the month with just over 1000 birds, with over 2000 for the year.

The day was improved in the afternoon when we started on the smaller nest boxes, with 34 Great Tit and 2 Tree Sparrow young ringed. Many more nest boxes to check over the next two days.

A bit of a surprise when opening one nest box - face to face with a Viper, looking very full of nestlings!!!

Pelle and his daughter Kari, arrived yesterday so it was four at the Obs last night and tonight
