Landsort diary Sunday 8th May 2016

All 30 nets opened at 0400 and closed at 1200. 30 new birds of 12 species, including the first Common Whitethroat of the year.

Also caught was a Thrush Nightingale, the first of the year, but already ringed having been caught on site on 17th May 2014 by Pelle.

Several Thrush Nightingale were singing early in the morning, approximately 5 in the Bredmar area.

Black Kite seen flying south down the east coast shortly after mid-day.

Mats, Gunila, Lasse and Anders all left the island on the 1330 boat leaving just Kay & Chris at the Obs overnight.
